    everyday use for 11 years
    Overall Score
I've had this model for well over 20 years. I had the red model and lost it in Madrid while on holiday. I found a new model in Trieste Italy. It was a special edition Stormo for the Italian forces. I used it every day for all its functions were exactly suited for my daily needs. The metal file works very well. Daily use of the toothpick had me replacing it after 5 years. Accessories are easily obtained. I added the small screwdriver for fixing my spectacles. The scissors are invaluable for that quick cut of tape or string. A lovely knife to have at all times.
Unfortunately, I now have to buy a new one because I forgot to put my old faithful in my baggage in Santiago and it got confiscated at tIe airport. I will only get the Mountaineering Vitorinox because it suits my everyday needs. Thankyou.

21-years-old and still doing the job

I purchased my 'Mountaineer' in 1991 and I have used it every day since. It has travelled around the world with me and it has never let me down, The array of tools make it a perfect and essential accessory for travel, both business and pleasure. Great for the adventurer or the pampered vacationer.
The scissors, in my experience, have many everyday applications for the traveller and are a far more useful tool than pliers . This knife is of a good weight and is comfortable to hold (neither too wide nor too thin)
I dropped my 'Mountaineer' on a concrete floor last week and chipped off a small piece of the plastic handle. I have dropped it hundreds of times in its 21-year life and this is the first damage sustained. That is impressive durability!
This is one for the pocket knife 'hall of fame'.
